aim of DailyCoV
DailyCoV aims to provide users with up-to-date, reliable, and easy-to-access global COVID-19 statistics, helping them stay informed about the latest trends and developments related to the COVID postpandemic situation.
Description of DailyCoV
DailyCoV is a straightforward app that offers real-time COVID-19 statistics, including new cases, deaths, recoveries, active cases, and more, sourced from the trusted public API provided by disease.sh. It aggregates data from official global sources and updates it periodically to ensure users have the most current information available.
Task of DailyCoV
The primary task of DailyCoV is to present real-time COVID-19 data in an accessible format. The app automatically updates the statistics and provides users with a simple, visual representation of the global situation, enabling them to stay informed with ease.
Update Frequency (Note on Data Source)
DailyCoV retrieves data exclusively from disease.sh, which aggregates information from public sources such as Worldometer and Johns Hopkins University (JHU CSSE). While disease.sh previously updated frequently during the height of the pandemic, update frequency now depends on the availability and consistency of its original sources. Due to global reporting changes, official updates may be less frequent or irregular, especially on weekends, holidays, or during periods of reduced public reporting.
Future Expansion
DailyCoV currently focuses on global COVID-19 updates. If reliable and publicly accessible APIs for other infectious agents — such as influenza, measles virus, poliovirus, and similar major viruses — become available, we aim to expand DailyCoV to provide real-time updates on a broader range of infectious diseases.
